Woodland Phlox
‘Chattahoochee’
Woodland Phlox (Phlox divaricata) is a perennial herb that grows up to about 20 inches tall, with decumbent stems that root at the nodes and send up erect, flowering branches. It forms loose, flat clusters of fragrant, lavender to pink or violet flowers in spring. Woodland Phlox thrives in part shade to full shade and prefers moist, rich, well-drained soils, though it can tolerate both acidic and alkaline conditions. It requires medium water and should not be allowed to dry out completely. This species is well-suited for woodland gardens and attracts butterflies with its showy blooms.
