Hydrangea quercifolia

Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia) is a deciduous shrub native to the southeastern United States, known for its distinctive oak-shaped leaves and showy white flower clusters. It typically grows 4 to 6 feet tall, sometimes reaching up to 12 feet, and spreads by suckers to form colonies. Oakleaf Hydrangea thrives in partial to full shade and prefers moist, well-drained soils, though it can tolerate some drought once established. It requires medium water use and does best in circumneutral soils (pH 6.8-7.2). This shrub is valued for its attractive foliage, which turns rich shades of red and purple in fall, and its exfoliating bark adds winter interest.
