Parthenium integrifolium

Wild Quinine

Wild Quinine (Parthenium integrifolium) is a hardy perennial native to prairies and open woodlands. It typically grows 3-4 feet tall and features clusters of small, white flowers that bloom from June through September. Wild Quinine thrives in full sun and prefers medium to medium-dry soils, though it is adaptable and can tolerate some drought once established. It is best suited for areas that receive at least six hours of direct sunlight per day. Periodic watering is helpful for establishing seedlings, but mature plants are quite resilient and require little supplemental water. This species is valued for its long bloom period and its ability to attract pollinators.
