Pinus strobus var. fastigiata

Pinus strobus var. fastigiata, commonly known as Columnar Eastern White Pine, is a narrow, upright cultivar of the Eastern White Pine. It typically grows 30-40 feet tall and about 10 feet wide, forming a dense, columnar shape ideal for screens or accent plantings. This tree thrives in full sun but can tolerate partial shade, and prefers acidic, medium moisture, well-drained soils. It is adaptable to both dry and moist conditions but does not tolerate standing water. Regular watering is beneficial during establishment, but mature trees are moderately drought tolerant. The Columnar Eastern White Pine is valued for its soft, blue-green needles and graceful, vertical habit.
