Wild Black Currant

Wild Black Currant (Ribes americanum) is a deciduous shrub native to North America, typically growing 3-6 feet tall. It thrives in a variety of light conditions, from full sun to part shade and even full shade. Wild Black Currant prefers moist soils but can tolerate a range of soil types, especially those with circumneutral pH. The plant produces clusters of small, yellowish flowers in spring, followed by edible black berries. It is well-suited for woodland gardens or naturalized areas where consistent moisture is available.
