Phlox subulata

Creeping Phlox
Drummond's Pink

Creeping Phlox (Phlox subulata) is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial that is often used as a groundcover. It thrives in full sun but can also tolerate part shade, though it flowers best with at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight per day. This plant prefers dry to moderately moist, well-drained soils and is tolerant of poor, rocky conditions. Creeping Phlox is evergreen in many regions and spreads to form a dense carpet, making it excellent for erosion control on slopes. It requires minimal watering once established and is well-suited for areas with low maintenance needs.
