Phlox subulata

Creeping Phlox
Emerald Pink

Creeping Phlox (Phlox subulata) is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial that is often used as a groundcover. It thrives in full sun but can tolerate part shade, though it flowers best with ample sunlight. This plant prefers dry to moderately moist, well-drained soils and is tolerant of poor, rocky conditions. Creeping Phlox is evergreen in mild climates and spreads to form a dense carpet, making it ideal for erosion control on slopes or as a filler between stones. It requires moderate to high water use, especially during establishment, but is relatively drought-tolerant once mature.
