Tiarella cordifolia

Foamflower

Foamflower (Tiarella cordifolia) is a shade-loving perennial native to cool, moist, deciduous woods and stream banks. It spreads via runners and can form large colonies when given space, making it an excellent groundcover. Foamflower thrives in shade to part-shade and prefers moist, acidic soils, though it can tolerate some late-day sun. Regular moisture is important for best growth, but it does not tolerate drought well. Its attractive, heart-shaped leaves and delicate flower spikes make it a popular choice for woodland gardens and shady borders.
